An atmospheric trip to discover some of the marine animals that can be found on the UK coastline and in the seas surrounding it.

The scientific name is Cetacea, an order which includes whales, dolphins and porpoises.
The one which appears most regularly off our coast is probably the bottlenose dolphin. They are mainly found along the western, Atlantic coasts of Ireland, Scotland and Wales, but there are also resident communities in the North Sea, around the Moray and Cromarty Firths. Summer visitors sometimes also venture as far south as the English Channel.
Let's turn to the thermoform. In the bottom right corner you'll feel splashing waves and water droplets. Leaping up out of the water towards the top left hand corner of the page, is the beautiful, curved body of the dolphin.
Bottlenose dolphins live in the wild for between 25 and 50 years and have been known to seek out human company, especially if they've become separated from their family group.

Reminded us of trips to the sea-side A group of seven took part in this activity all with different levels of visual impairment. One member who was blind from birth told us about a memory of when he was young and he heard a dolphin splashing so he loved feeling the shape of the dolphins body on the thermoform as it jumped.
