The Aston Martin DB5 is probably one of the most famous cars in the world due to its role in the Bond movies. It epitomized beauty, glamour and British cutting edge design. The car was so iconic that Corgi brought out a promotional version which was the best selling toy of 1964.
Author Ian Fleming had actually given Bond a DB Mark 3 in the novel. However, the DB5 was Aston Martin's newest model when Goldfinger was being made so they decided to use it instead. The colour of the car is called silver birch and as well as luxury features such as reclining seats and wool pile carpets Bond's version also had some useful added weaponry!
