Underneath the lilies in the dark, dark pond, a small shape is drifting, just floating around. It’s a spot, it’s a tot, it’s an inky-pinky blot. It swims without fins, it’s a round jelly dot. It stares and declares to all who swim by, ‘Tell me, who am I? Please, tell me, who am I?’.
Feel all over the picture, then start on the left hand side (near the binding) and feel some lovely, curvy shapes: these are green weeds which grow in the water of the pond below the surface (surface means the top of the water). Let your fingers go up and down them and then move from the bottom along to the right; one thin leaf or frond goes right across the bottom of your feely picture - but ... what' sitting on it? Can you feel a circle with a bump on it, this is the shell.
