Listen to an audio clip

Strolling down a path in the clearing is a rather cheeky looking mouse. But, oh what a shock! The mouse doesn't know that he is being watched by the most gruesome and the most enormous monster! Also, on the cover is the title of the book. "The Gruffalo" is written in huge capital letters which hang in the blue sky. By the mouse are the names of the author of the story, Julia Donaldson and the person who made the pictures, Axel Scheffler.
Turn over the cover of the book. There are two pages with feely pictures. These are some of the creatures we will meet in the story. The first hard plastic page has two feely pictures, one of a snake and one of a mouse.
