When Crab finds a new shell, he doesn’t want to share it with anyone – especially not a blobby purple anemone and a tickly bristleworm. But life in the rock pool proves tougher than Crab thinks and he soon finds he needs his new housemates.

Sharing a Shell is a charming underwater tale of friendship and fun from the picture book partnership of Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks, creators of What the Ladybird Heard. With brilliant rhythmic verse, bright and distinctive illustrations, this is a firm favourite with children and parents alike.

Hello, my name’s Olivia and I’m going to share a story with you about three little sea creatures who need to find a home. Are you ready? Let’s take a trip to the seaside! * seashore sounds
On the front cover are three friends sitting on the yellow sandy beach with the sea behind them. We have a bright-orange crab, who is tucked inside a huge, swirly shell. And next to him is a squishy pink and purple sea anemone, and a yellow bristle worm. We’ve created a feely picture of the three friends and we’ll explore them in a moment.
Out at sea there are lots of white seagulls, a fisherman in a little red boat and even a dolphin, popping its head up to say hello!
Turn over the cover and we’ll explore our first feely picture!
