This story is based on a legend discovered by the 13th "century traveller, Marco Polo, as he went on his way through Persia, or Iran as we know it today. Jude Daly has captured the atmosphere of the Middle East beautifully in her illustrations.
The picture on the front cover sets the scene for our story. We have a close up of the tower of Saveh in Persia from which three astronomers are studying the stars in the night sky through their telescopes. Far below lies a cluster of dwellings set in a desert like background.
