Let’s get moving! Touch to See picture books to inspire little ones to get active

12th March 2024

Sport comes in various shapes and sizes and is a perfect way to spend time with friends and family. The Paris 2024 Olympics is just around the corner, so now is the perfect time to get moving and try new activities with your little ones. Engaging in sports is great for physical and mental health, helping your young learners have fun while looking after their body and mind.

Participating in physical activity can be daunting for blind and visually impaired children and young people, but picture books are a perfect way for any child to learn – and get excited – about new experiences before trying them.

Luckily, we’ve brought a range of picture books that encourage kids to get active to life for blind and visually impaired children – so everybody can feel included.

Blind children shouldn’t miss out on any activity and we hope with our sports-related books we can help them build their confidence and take the first step towards trying something new.

Let’s jump into our free library collection and see which books are going to get us up and ready for a sporty day.
