For ten years, the Greeks besiege the city and the Trojans defended it. Although both Trojans and Greeks died in various battles, it was stalemate. Eventually, Odysseus, who was homesick and missing his wife gathered, the Greeks together. 'We're getting nowhere. We've been here for ten whole years. We can't win by force, but we could win by intelligence. I have an idea.' Really, it was Athena's idea. She was still furious that Paris had chosen Aphrodite and not her, so she was determined to help the Greeks. They made a huge wooden horse with a hollow body. The cavity was large enough to hold a hundred armed men. The Trojans did not know the Greeks were hidden inside when they pulled the horse through their large gates into the city of Troy.

This album worked very well as a starter to lessons My pupil really enjoyed the part about being in the kitchen and talking about food. They also enjoyed feeling the raised images to get a good understanding of the shape of the ornaments. I used this album as a starter for lessons and it worked very well. Teacher
Brilliant This pack was brilliant - a good mix of formal information and stories. Really great for this pupil - he asked to listen for pleasure as well as for research. Dorothy

Enjoyable experience I have very much enjoyed meeting Zeus and Hermes and all the other personalities. I enjoyed learning about how food was prepared. I also very much enjoyed looking at the Greek ship and meeting the helmsmen. In short, I enjoyed meeting with and looking at all the figures in the pack and was very interested to look at the ancient Greek utilities displayed in it. Library Member
