Room on the Broom

We’re kicking off our list with a Julia Donaldson classic! In this much-loved favourite, a witch take a trip on her broomstick with her two cats. It’s already looking a bit crowded on that broom – but when she loses her hat, wand and bow and they’re retrieved by a dog and frog and a bird, surely they can also hitch a ride? A wonderful story about the importance of kindness and acceptance.

Billy Monster’s Daymare

Billy Monster can’t sleep – his room is too bright and he keeps having ‘daymares’ about horrible children. Daddy monster tries his best to reassure him with lullabies and cold slime. This warm and funny story is perfect for raising a smile and chasing away bedtime fears and comes with an audio guide read by our friend, Alan Davies.

Dear Vampa

There’s trouble in the neighbourhood for a family of vampires. A new family have moved next door and they have some absolutely revolting habits. They stay up ALL DAY and lock themselves in at night. They even take SUN BATHS. Disgusting!  What on earth is a nice vampire family to do? With an audio guide read by the hilarious Bill Bailey.

My Monster and Me

Not all monsters have to be scary. This touching story about a young boys and his ‘worry monster’ comes from Bake Off winner and celebrity chef Nadiya Hussain. The monster follows the boy everywhere he goes, he just can’t seem to shake it. This lovely book that teaches children how to manage their own ‘worry monsters’ comes with an audio guide read by Nadiya herself.

Not Now Bernard

We love this David McKee classic! When Bernard finds a monster at the bottom of the garden, he tries to tell his parents. But Mum and Dad are too busy to notice and, before long, the monster is inside the house and making himself at home.
