Developed an understanding of conceptsWe used this book to learn about Tudor houses, weapons, clothing etc, before going on a class trip to a Tudor house/experience day. The Living Paintings book enabled my child to develop an understanding of concepts, particularly large-scale things like houses which he cannot see, and this allowed him to enjoy the class trip (and the whole topic of Tudors in general) infinitely more than without it.Parent

I ducked out of the crowd, and ran towards the castle at Southsea. The fleet, followed by the crowd on land, rounded the headland where the castle was and set off into the channel. Lined up on the ship's decks were soldiers and archers, all armed ready to fight the French. The men all cheered when the Mary Rose, the flag ship- that's the lead ship- rounded the corner. I just caught a glimpse of Captain Roger Grenville, standing high up on the aftercastle of the Mary Rose. I could see the barber surgeon, who would treat any wounded sailors, standing gazing out to sea. Even the cooks were on deck. They had finished stowing away the supplies of salt beef, salt fish and ship's biscuits that would feed the crew, and were waving goodbye to their loved ones on shore.

Great resourceGreat resource used alongside sighted peers. Especially enjoyed the sections on kitchen and law and order. The resource allowed the student to fully participate in the class topic. Student loved the thermoforms and listening to the different characters.Rose
