In this fact book for teenagers and young people we chart the explosion of popular music since the 50s. This musical express thunders through the decades talking about the iconic bands and artists who changed the face of music forever like Elvis, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, David Bowie and Kate Bush. You can also explore the lowdown on music movements like punk, glam rock, disco, grunge and Britpop and find out how they influenced fashion! Each decade is split into short audio guides, so you can pick and choose what you want to listen to and in what order. You’ll be able to discover the music through the decades whilst feeling iconic performers, rock photography, stage outfits and much more on the tactile pictures. DJ presenters include Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley

He continued to re-invent himself with new alter-egos such as Aladdin Sane, who was an extension of Ziggy, and a mad aristocrat called The Thin White Duke. His sanity, affected by bouts of illegal drug taking, was seriously compromised by the vivid, sometimes unpleasant, characters he adopted.
Let's explore a tactile picture of Bowie on the album cover for Aladdin Sane. The photograph, which was taken by Brian Duffy, is of his face, naked shoulders and chest. It's a very theatrical and powerful image which has become iconic. His striking make up includes a dramatic electric blue and red lightening bolt which runs from his hairline diagonally down over one side of his face.
