Tayen helps us with our urgent appeal

26th March 2020

Eight-year-old Tayen was over the moon when new books arrived from our library last week, just as her family began self-isolating on her doctors advice. Kali, Tayen’s mum, told us:

“I can’t explain just how happy those boxes made her. Tayen doesn’t cope well with any changes to her routine so was very upset, but she knows what these boxes of books are, they don’t change, and I know she felt comforted and reassured by them”.

Tayen is one of thousands of blind and partially sighted library members who need our unique Touch to See books now more than ever. Our free postal library is vital for blind and partially sighted children and for older isolated people for whom our books are a lifeline.

Please Donate to help isolated blind people during Covid-19

Demand has increased dramatically this week, and we are absolutely committed to continuing to provide our library service. But we are facing huge challenges including the loss of significant income from planned fundraising events. Please give your support to ensure we can continue to operate in these difficult and unprecedented times.

A donation of £20 could provide an isolated blind person with Touch to See books for the next four months. Thank you.
