Early Sunday morning, the Living Paintings team were hard at work setting up a stand at Greenham Common just outside of Newbury for the StepUp4Good sponsored run. We had 20 fantastic volunteers running for Living Paintings taking part in a mini mile, 3k, 5k or 10k sponsored run.
It was a windy day on Greenham Common, and the route took them past heather and heathland, as well as the site’s notorious cruise missile bunkers, behind their perimeter fence of barbed wire.
The event was brilliantly organised by The Greenham Trust, with each runner getting their own recorded official time. There was also an entertainer to keep the children amused, and a van selling hot drinks and bacon sandwiches for the adults.
All our runners completed the circuit in good time, and were presented with a Living Pictures goody bag and certificate, decorated with one of our special Touch to See raised images.
