I’m Ted, I’m 11 and blind – I’m doing a 2.6 Challenge for Living Paintings

Inspired by Captain Tom Moore, one Living Paintings library member decided he wanted to make a difference too, with a 2.6 Challenge.

Over to you, Ted.

Hi I’m Ted and as many of you know I am blind.

You may or may not know that I’m a big fan of the Living Paintings charity – they provide wonderful free Touch to See books for people like me with a visual impairment. They are amazing and they have helped me make sense of the world!

Having seen Captain Tom raise so much money I wondered if I could do something to raise some money for my favourite charity Living Paintings while I am in lockdown – so they can keep the books coming.

I’m going to run 26.2 miles over 26 days starting on Sunday 26 April, by doing guided runs during my exercise time in my garden or in the field behind our house with my mum, dad or my big sister Hollie. My friend JayJay will trot alongside and wag his tail in support!
If it rains I will run on my treadmill, which is not my favourite thing! Will you help me by either making a donation or you could think of your own 2.6 challenge. Mum says you could bake 26 cakes for your neighbours, or draw 26 rainbows, or walk 2.6 kms backwards.

Living Paintings books mean the world to me and I need your help.

Thank you.
