We first meet the young sister and brother with their dog and rabbit on the front cover of the book. They're sitting on a pretty brown, yellow and green mat. The girl, Becky, is stroking their yellow Labrador dog, Ben, who's lying down next to her. Her little brother holds a brown rabbit on his knee. He's wearing a blue sweater, jeans and trainers. He has light brown hair and so does Becky, but hers is much longer. She's wearing a pink jumper, and I'd say that she looks about 8 years old. Both children are smiling happily. Ben also looks happy and the rabbit is taking everything in with her ears pricked up. She's left the green leaves she was eating to see what's going on.
