Everyone can see the Queen’s smart coats and dresses, but what does she wear underneath, particularly for a school visit? Through the eyes of a little girl hoping for a school visit by the Queen, the range of royal underwear is revealed here.
Listen to an audio clip
On the front cover is picture of the Queen standing in front of a washing line that has five pairs of different patterned knickers pegged on it. The Queen has a lovely, happy smile on her face and, of course, she is wearing a crown on her head. She is giving us the Royal wave! She is wearing a long pink dress, pink shoes with little heels, white gloves and a pearl necklace. A little white leather handbag hangs from her wrist.
Now open the book to feel our first feely picture.
Run your hands all over it there are four pictures for you to feel. Let's start with the figure on the left, near the binding he's standing up and facing us. This is a Life Guard, a soldier who often rides on horse back and guards Buckingham Palace
