This book is about Autumn. The time of year when the weather starts cooling and the days get shorter. In the centre of the cover is a red squirrel who’s scurrying about collecting leaves. On each side of him is a tree with leaves of red, yellow and gold. On the ground are more leaves, some plants and an acorn. A little bird is perched on a branch watching him. On the page on the right is a little picture of squirrel, he’s looking very cheery with one foot lifted in front of the other. His mouth is open so maybe he’s chatting as he walks along. The page on the right shows squirrel on the roof of a bright yellow bird box. It’s birds little home and squirrel is looking inside the little round hole and calling for bird. Squirrel is looking through the entrance hole, his mouth is open wide and he has a very worried expression on his face.
