The books in this series tell of the adventures of scruffy dog, Hairy Maclary. The rhythmical text is complemented by humorous illustrations.
Now let's meet Hairy Maclary. Feel all over him. He is also facing towards the right, trotting along. What is different about him compared to Bitzer Maloney? That's right, he's much shorter and feels rough. That's because Scottie dogs like him are small and have long black fur while whippets are tall with very short smooth fur. Start at Hairy Maclary's head which is on the right of the picture of him. Follow its shape down to the right until you come to the smooth dot of his sticking out nose.
Above and to the left of the tip of his nose you may be able to feel a dent, this is his eye but it's quite hard to find as there's so much hair!
