An atmospheric tour of the flora and fauna of the Dorset countryside and coastline

Listen to an audio clip

As we approach the sea can you smell the salty tang in the air? You can taste the saltiness on your lips after a day on the beach. It's often quite breezy as the wind comes off the sea and it might whip particles of sand onto your face.
Don't forget to kick off your shoes so you can feel the sand between your toes. It will be dry and powdery to start with but get firmer and gritty as you get close to the water's edge.
And now spring really is upon us and we would very much like you to join us on one of our favourite local walks. We will meet Margot and Bumble just before the footbridge over the wide stream.
Lastly we stroll around the dunes and shore of Studland but mind we don't step on the adder basking in the sun! We walk down to the water's edge, discovering the plants, animals and insects we observe on the way.
I wonder if we have followed in the footsteps of Thomas Hardy as we explore his beloved Wessex.

Excellent Atmospheric Soundtrack The most popular track was No3, Seashore & Moorland. This was very atmospheric and had an interesting tactile experience. The sound of breaking waves was very evocative. We did think there were too many flowers in the pack though. Croydon Vol Ass for the Blind
