David’s story – Living Paintings BBC Radio 4 appeal

Our Trustee, David Hall, will be sharing his family’s story and the devastating impact of his son Monty being diagnosed with acute childhood glaucoma at just three days old.

Tune in to hear how discovering Living Paintings and our free library service changed their lives.

Monty now 10, loves receiving new audio tactile books from Living Paintings every month.

“We are a family of readers, so the thought of not being able to do this simple thing with our youngest son was overwhelming. Then we found Living Paintings. Their audio tactile books bring stories to life for Monty, despite his sight loss.

“Monty loves to read and learn about the world he can’t see and sharing in his excitement and wonder brings enormous joy and hope to us for Monty’s future.” David, Monty’s dad

It costs around one hundred and twenty pounds a year, ten pounds a month, for us to provide unlimited book loans to one child completely free.

Please tune in and donate if you can, BBC Radio 4 on Sunday 5th July (7:54am and 9:25pm) and Thursday 9th July (3:27pm).
