World Book Day at Living Paintings

2nd March 2026

March 5th is World Book Day, a day to recognise and celebrate the joys of reading.

To inspire you to pick up a book, we are delighted to share that our most popular titles are proving as beloved as ever — with The Three Little Pigs, Jack and the Beanstalk, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar topping our most ordered list in 2025.

These timeless classics have captured the imaginations of children across the UK, and it’s easy to see why. From the huff-and-puff drama of the Three Little Pigs to Jack’s extraordinary adventure up the beanstalk, and the colourful world of the Very Hungry Caterpillar, these stories offer something truly special — the joy of shared reading for every child, including those with visual impairments.

Every child deserves the magic of books. Our audio tactile picture books bring these iconic tales to life for blind and partially sighted readers, ensuring no child misses out on story time.

This World Book Day, join us in celebrating the power of inclusive storytelling — because every child has the right to lose themselves in a great story.

At number three is The Three Little Pigs by Mara Alperin, illustrations by Ag Jatkowska.

Three little pigs are looking scared. In the background there is a wolf huffing and puffing. There is straw blowing around too.

A beloved classic and our third most popular book of 2025, The Three Little Pigs is a part of the My First Fairytales series. These simple retellings of classic fairy-tales make a perfect read for young and old alike!

In the number two spot is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.

Our second most popular title is The Very Hungry Caterpillar!

Babies and toddlers will love to follow The Very Hungry Caterpillar as he munches and crunches his way through a variety of foods.

We were thrilled to work with Giovanna Fletcher on the audio guide for this title. Her voice describes the illustrations and guides young readers to better understand and immerse themselves in the story.

And the number one, top of the chart title goes to Jack and the Beanstalk by Mara Alperin, illustrations by Mark Chambers.

Jack looks frightened and is running away, there is a scared golden hen following him. To the left there is a big brown boot with red laces and purple trousers above. The leaves of the beanstalk are at the edges of the page.

Our most popular audio tactile book in 2025, Jack and the Beanstalk is a part of the My First Fairytales series, along with The Three Little Pigs and The Elves and the Shoemaker.

This classic tale comes with beautiful hand painted tactile illustrations and a playful audio guide from the unforgettable Mama G!
