When David first reached out to Living Paintings, he was looking for a way to share bedtime stories with his son Monty, who is blind. What happened next, he says, changed their lives.

This Sunday 5th July at 7.54am, David will be the voice of our BBC Radio 4 charity appeal, sharing his family’s story in his own words, and asking listeners to donate so that more families like his can access our books.
We are enormously grateful to David for his courage and generosity in sharing something so personal. His story is not unusual. There are thousands of families across the UK in the same position, quietly navigating a world of books and stories that wasn’t built with their children in mind.
What David found in Living Paintings, and what he’ll describe on Radio 4, is the moment that changes. Our orange box arriving at the door. Monty’s hands on the raised illustrations. The audio descriptions at bedtime. The look on his face.
If David’s words move you, please donate. And please share his story. The more people who hear it, the more children we can reach.
