Calling all Whovians… it’s time to board the TARDIS and explore the weird and wonderful world of Doctor Who with our three-part collection of tactile-audio box sets! Raised illustrations and audio guides cover all iterations of the Doctor – and his most formidable foes – and will enthral blind and visually impaired fans of this beloved series.
Each box set includes at least five tactile illustrations, alongside 2D colour versions of the images, and a descriptive audio guide which describes each detail of the illustrations and raised images.
We’ve been incredibly lucky to work with a tremendous range of actors involved with the show, including some of the Doctors themselves – Sir Derek Jacobi, Christopher Eccleston, Peter Davison, and Ncuti Gatwa! These recognisable voices describe the images and also guide fingers over the raised images to help people who are blind or visually impaired access more of the visual world through touch and sound.
Listen to an excerpt from one of our audio guides here, read by voice of The Daleks, Nicholas Briggs!
Part One includes tactile versions of the iconic TARDIS, the first Doctor and the iconic Daleks, the second Doctor and a Cyberman. We also include the third Doctor and a Sontaran, and of course the fourth Doctor alongside perhaps his greatest nemesis – Davros.
Part Two includes the amazing fifth Doctor alongside a Silurian and the sixth Doctor and Sil. We then move on to the seventh and eight Doctors with the Master and Ohila, the War Doctor and a Zygon, and then the ninth Doctor alongside a Slitheen!
Part Three includes tactile adaptations of the tenth Doctor and the Weeping Angel and the eleventh Doctor and Skaldak the Ice Warrior. We also have a tactile of the twelfth Doctor and Missy, the thirteenth and Ashad, the Lone Cyberman and the Fugitive Doctor and Pol Kon Don, the Judoon. We finish the series with the most recent fifteenth Doctor and the Goblins.

This collection would never exist were it not for the support of Louis Moorhouse, who led a crowdfunding campaign to bring Doctor Who to life in the tactile-audio format.
Louis raised over £25,000 for this project, which enabled us to produce these three wonderful box sets and bring the world of Doctor Who to children who are blind and visually impaired.
Louis is now a trustee of Living Paintings where his passion and hard work on our behalf, continues on a regular basis. You can hear more from Louis and his perspectives on living with blindness and his support of Living Paintings in our mini series Blind Assumptions.
