Want to understand how we use touch and sound to bring the visual world of picture books to life for blind and visually impaired children? Go to the picture of the Gruffalo, on the last page of the book, and feel along with the audio descriptive track below!
All of our books are handcrafted by our incredible volunteers. Illustrations from the story are recreated in tactile form and are accompanied by audio descriptions that guide visually impaired children through the raised pictures to help them ‘see’ in their own way – through touch and sound.
They also include braille and are available for free from our postal library for blind and visually impaired children across the UK.
Our Touch to See books have the power to inspire confidence and ignite a love of learning.
Our library is free for blind and partially sighted people in the UK – if you’d like to join, complete our member form or give us a call.
Browse our incredible Touch to See books and request any you would like to borrow for free.
