Hello my name’s Harry Hill. It’s lovely to meet you! This story is based on a well-loved, children’s rhyme, two Little Dickie Birds sitting on a wall, one named Peter, one named Paul, but in this book there are rhymes about other animals too!
The picture on the book cover shows a warm sunny day and there’s a round, yellow sun shining in a pale blue sky. The title of the book ‘The Two Little Dickie Birds’ is written in bright red writing at the top of the book cover. Beneath this are the stars of the story – the two little dickie birds, Peter and Paul, who are sitting on a wall looking at each other! We’ve created a feely picture of them. Turn over the book cover and find the feely picture page on the right.

Sofie wanted to read this again and again Watching Sofie respond to the story and the feely pictures was wonderful. Sofie engaged really well with what was happening in the book and took time to feel all the pictures and build an increased understanding of the animals through the descriptions. Sofie wanted to read this one again and again and loved remembering all the animals names. We value the extra care taken by Living Paintings to ensure an all round educational and enjoyable reading and listening experience. Parent
The hedgehogs are my favourite I loved jumping like a frog and flapping my arms like wings. It made me happy. The hedgehogs are my favourite. Sofie
